- Find landscaping equipment for building raised beds and cold frames
- Summer
- Build beds and cold frames, fill with compost and seedlings
- Tend, dehydrate and can produce
- Rearrange basement utility area to fit root cellar
- Fall
- Create ventilation in root cellar area
- Find equipment for root cellar walls, shelves
- Build it
2012: YEAR TWO
- Winter
- Find source for composted horse manure (for growing mushrooms), order spores
- More basement work to rearrange for food storage and mushroom room
- Spring
- Make sure beds and frames in garden are functional, and build more if necessary
- Sterilize manure
- Start vegetables inside
- Summer
- Plant seedlings
- Tend, dehydrate, store and can produce
- Fall

ReplyDeleteThanks for following, Josh! Thing is, I have plenty of time right now on maternity leave, but I have very little opportunity to work with my hands! I tried to scale back the plans to make the goals feasible over 2 years...we'll see! Chickens may be in my future, but the start-up costs don't fit with the rules I'm trying to follow.
